Residents at Beaumont Manor Care Home in Frinton-on-Sea enjoyed a relaxing and creative day of flower arranging, bringing a little colour and natural beauty into the home.
With a selection of beautiful blooms to choose from, residents had the opportunity to create their own floral displays, selecting colours and arranging the flowers to suit their individual tastes. The activity encouraged everyone to get creative, with plenty of smiles and conversation as the arrangements gradually came together.

Flower arranging offers a lovely way for residents to express themselves and enjoy a sense of achievement. Choosing flowers, combining different colours and deciding where each stem should go allows everyone to put their own personal touch on their creation. There is no right or wrong approach, making it an accessible activity that residents can enjoy at their own pace.
Spending time with flowers can also provide a calming and enjoyable experience. Their colours, textures and natural scents can stimulate the senses, while handling the stems and arranging them can encourage gentle movement and coordination. For some residents, flowers may also bring back fond memories of gardening, growing flowers at home or arranging bouquets for family celebrations and special occasions.
Just as importantly, activities like this create opportunities for residents to spend time together. Sharing ideas, admiring each other's arrangements and chatting as they work can help strengthen friendships and make everyday moments feel special. Whether someone enjoys carefully planning a display or simply choosing their favourite flowers, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

At Beaumont Manor, we value activities that allow residents to follow their interests, try something new and enjoy meaningful experiences with others. Our flower arranging session was a wonderful example of how a simple activity can bring colour, creativity and connection into the day.
The finished arrangements looked beautiful, and it was lovely to see residents taking pride in their creations. A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the session such an enjoyable occasion.
