Our private garden is the ideal spot for our residents to spend time with their loved ones, stroll around the grounds, and take in the natural beauty of our Essex nursing home. Our beautiful grounds are the ideal place to visit for those who want to get closer to nature, go for a walk, or simply listen to the birds while enjoying a cup of tea.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started with it, we encourage all of our residents to get involved in a variety of garden projects. Our gardens are extremely accessible and user-friendly for all types of equipment, including wheelchairs and recliner chairs, meaning there is always something for you to enjoy regardless of your care needs. There is so much space in our garden for residents to make the most of the outside and do more of what brings them joy.

Make Gardening Your Hobby

All residents are encouraged to participate in as many outdoor activities as possible in our garden, from planting new plants to tending to those that have already grown. The reason we do this is because of the benefits that gardening brings. Gardening is a terrific way for residents to meet and bond with new people while also increasing their sense of ownership and responsibility.

Our residents are at the heart of everything we do and our garden is no different! We regularly take them out to the local garden centre to pick out their favourite blooms for our garden areas and many also enjoy weeding and flower arranging alongside our garden team.

Our private garden is the ideal setting for reconnecting with nature. Whether residents and their loved ones choose to sit back and watch the wildlife that has made the garden their home, get lost in a book, or sketch the scene in front of them, you can do as you please at Beaumont Manor Care Home. During the warmer months, there’s nothing better than sitting outside on the patio with a chilled drink.

There are frequent rest areas placed around our garden areas, creating the perfect blend of activity and relaxation. We are currently in the process of developing our second garden into a sensory area for our residents living with dementia, sensory impairment or limited mobility featuring vibrant colours, aromatic plants, tactile surfaces and soothing sounds in a safe, secure environment.

Residents can make the most of their time in the garden by partaking in activities such as walking, gardening, exercise sessions, and when the weather permits, enjoying meals with loved ones, engaging in outdoor arts and crafts, and relishing live entertainment.

Our care home ensures that the garden is accessible to all residents by providing wheelchair-accessible paths, seating options for those with mobility concerns, secure fencing and gates, well-maintained paths, appropriate lighting, and other safety features to prevent accidents and ensure the wellbeing of all residents.
